Buy a Brick
Southern Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) urgently needs to buy a refuge in the South East Hampshire area.
The refuge will provide a safe haven for women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. A place where they can find peace and security, where they can relax and where they can be helped through the practical and emotional support provided by SDAS staff.
SDAS aim to buy a house large enough to accommodate up to six families, with private bedrooms for each family, a playroom for the children and a garden where children can play and their mothers can relax.
Bricks are building blocks and SDAS are asking you to please make a donation to ‘buy a brick’ that will not only help us to build a home for victims of domestic abuse but also help to rebuild the lives of the women and the children who will live there.
In return for your donation, you will be given a name credit on SDAS’ Wall of Donors, although if you prefer you can give anonymously.
You can ‘buy’ as many bricks as you like – or even a whole room.
£25 – bronze – name credit
£100 – silver – name credit
£1000 – gold – name credit and message/dedication
£5000 – £10,000 – a room such as a bedroom, lounge, kitchen, dining room or a playroom.
In addition to being recognised on the website, the sponsored room in the refuge will be named after the donor/sponsor, with a name plaque appearing on the door for three years.
Further acknowledgement for all donors will appear on the SDAS facebook page and blog.
